In 2022, the Partnership released an updated Plan which includes regional baseline statistics and maps; an overview of the region’s history and its natural resources and ecosystem services; emerging context of needed climate change policy and program development to address mitigation and adaptation; forests, forestry, recreation, and tourism related to rural economic development; challenges to municipal financial stability; and the critical need for a stable source of funding for Partnership. The Plan also outlines issues of concern and priorities identified by the Woodlands Partnership Board and incorporates public input, including from town Select Board meetings and public forums.
The first Plan was prepared by the Berkshire and Franklin counties Regional Planning Agencies in 2015.
